Training Match # 2 vs Falken
Photo Credit PradeeshThe second friendly of the 2020 season saw Aliens take on Falken in a T25, who were left without any competitive cricket for the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aliens fielded a strong side which consisted of Christopher H, Damon, Dave K, Shahabaz, +Mitch, Dennis, Bobby, Sudesh, Arif, Achal, Branson, and Dave M. Sudesh led the warm up with his rhythmical movements which made us all want to be dancers in big productions. Skipper for the day Dave K, won the toss and elected to have a bat on a sunny, warm Ekerberg evening.
Mitch and Achal got the innings off however Achal was quickly dismissed bring Damon to the crease. Damon and Mitch put on solid partnership before Bobby joined Mitch at the crease. Bobby worked the ball off his pads with flicks and pulls making a decent 46, just shy of his maiden Aliens half century. Shahabaz came in down the order looking hungry for runs and scored a quick fire 14 off 13 balls to see Aliens post 133/8 from 25.
Aliens then took to the field in a bid to defend their total. Damon bowled with pace and accuracy to figures of 2 maidens from his 5, conceding 15 runs. Skipper Dave K was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets from his 5 overs for 34 runs. Branson, Dave and Sudesh all chipped in with a wicket a piece however it was not enough to stop Falken powering over the line with 6 wickets in hand and 3 overs left. In the end we were around 30 runs short and a few dropped chances proved to be quite costly.
