Play Cricket in Norway for The Aliens
Written by Administrator

There are 26 teams currently playing in the Oslo area, organised into 3 leagues. The Aliens compete in the 3rd division of the leagues, in which the standard is pretty good but not too scary. We are a friendly and social team comprising many nationalities (South African, British, Caribbean, Australian, Pakistani, Indian and even Norwegian) with various levels of ability (ranging from "oh dear" to "occasionally brilliant").

If you used to play cricket and haven't played for a while, have just moved to Norway and want to continue to play, or have never played before and are just interested, please contact one of us using the details below. There will be plenty of opportunities to play this summer as we will have about 14 - 18 matches.

There are two formats of the games played, the 30/30 overs and 20/20 overs.
The 30 over games take place on weekends and last about 5 hours. The 20/20 games take place on weekday evenings. The Aliens historically have not played in the 20/20 but in 2009 they may field a team. Most of the games take place at Stovner and Ekeberg, both of which are easily reachable by bus or train.  Several players drive to training from central Oslo so lifts can usually be arranged.

In 2009, all teams in all leagues are required to play in coloured clothing, hence with Full Playing Membership you will now be provided with a coloured team kit.

Weather permitting we train in nets every Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Stovner. Popping along to one of these training sessions would be a good way to get to know the team.
